About Hillheim

This is not a spa. This is not relaxation therapy—as you know it. This is a reclamation. A revolution. A return.

At Hillheim, we don’t just chase pain relief—we seek truth in the tissue. We work with the body the way it was designed to be worked with: through deep listening, strategic force, and sacred pause. This is relaxation for your nervous system, not just your muscles. This is how you recondition your body to stop bracing. How you begin to trust yourself again.

Because that chronic tension? That constant tightness? That’s not just physical. That’s a body stuck in defense mode. And here—we undo that.

Hillheim (pronounced Hill-hime) is the new name of this practice, but it’s also something older. It’s a merging of my family name, Hill, and the Norse realm of Helheim—a place of rest and return for those who didn’t die in battle, but still deserved peace. In Nordic tradition, Helheim is not a place of punishment. It is a forested realm where the moss is soft, the mushrooms grow in rings, and the earth welcomes the weary home. Hillheim is built in that spirit.

My name is Amelia Hill. I am a Scandinavian-American, a second-generation immigrant, and a bodywork specialist. What I offer has been shaped by modern science and ancestral knowing. Every technique I use—be it deep tissue, myofascial release, cupping, facilitated stretching, breathwork, or neuromuscular therapy—is backed by research. But the way I use them? That was passed down to me through instinct, lineage, and lived experience.

This is intuitive science.

It’s not fluff. It’s not guesswork. It’s what happens when data meets devotion.

Each bodywork session blends evidence-based modalities with somatic awareness and nervous system integration. We don’t just treat pain—we track it. We study its patterns. We understand its purpose. And then we help your body finally release it.

And while this work can be intense—it isn’t brutal. Pain is not a prerequisite for healing. You don’t have to “tough it out” to earn peace. We believe in working with the body, not against it. That means creating an environment that is safe, grounded, and deeply respectful—especially for those who rarely receive that in medical or therapeutic spaces.

Hillheim is a sanctuary for:

– Women and AFAB individuals
– Queer, trans, and nonbinary clients
– Survivors
– Neurodivergent folks
– Anyone who’s been dismissed, disbelieved, or disrespected by traditional healthcare systems

We don’t just acknowledge your identity—we honor it. We don’t expect you to leave parts of yourself at the door. You are whole. You are welcome. Whatever your background—religious, spiritual, secular, or somewhere in-between—you’ll find care here without judgment. Hillheim is rooted in Nordic ritual, yes—but that ritual is about reverence, not rules.

This is a space for warriors, seekers, and anyone ready to reclaim their body. Whether you’re healing from trauma, recovering from injury, chasing performance goals, or simply trying to make it through the day without clenching your jaw—we meet you where you are.

And we move forward. Together.

Meet the Team

Forget corporate wellness platitudes—this is the trio you didn’t know your nervous system needed. Amelia Hill, “The Hands.” Hazel, “The Heart,” and Grandmother Ash “The Wise.” Together, we are Hillheim—where ancient instinct meets modern science, and healing becomes a ritual.

We’re not here to coddle. We’re here to recalibrate. Rooted in Northwest Arkansas, this is a sanctuary forged for those ready to get back in their bodies and back in command. No fluff. Just function, soul, and the occasional muddy paw print.

The Hands

Amelia Hill

Founder of Hillheim. Bodywork Specialist. Somatic Guide.

Amelia isn’t your average practitioner. Born with severe ADHD and raised by fire and grit, she operates at the intersection of instinct and science—developing advanced protocols grounded in neuromuscular therapy, somatics, and functional rehab.

Her work is clinical—but intuitive. Precise—but primal. She doesn’t just treat tension—she tracks its origin, rewires your neural map, and rebuilds your relationship with your own body.

Her approach is rooted in ancestral knowledge passed down through her Scandinavian lineage, where resilience was survival and healing was sacred. A second-generation immigrant, she carries the quiet strength of her Norwegian and Swedish ancestors into every session. This isn’t massage. This is restoration.

Outside the office, Amelia is in the woods. Backpacking, training, tending fires, and letting nature recalibrate her nervous system the way she helps recalibrate others. She’s not just in tune with the body—she’s in sync with the land. And she brings that presence to the table—literally.

Hazel
The Heart

Hazel

Wolf of Hillheim. Therapy Companion. Client Care Coordinator.

Hazel isn’t just the mascot—she’s the medicine.

This Australian Shepherd knows when to offer a nose boop, when to station at the window, and when to lay right at your feet to anchor the energy. Equal parts protector and goofball, Hazel is the emotional barometer of Hillheim.

Outdoors, she’s the fearless trail guide. Indoors, she’s the grounding presence that reminds every client to breathe, soften, and stay present. Her job description? Vibe control. Nervous system regulation. Occasional mud inspections.

She doesn’t need credentials—she is the certification. One tail wag at a time.

Grandmother Ash
The Spirit

Grandmother Ash

Elder of Hillheim. Mystic Seer. Mentor.

Grandmother Ash has been a guiding force behind Hillheim since long before its name was ever spoken aloud. A spiritual elder with roots in both the Lakota and Sámi traditions, she walks the line between earth and sky — grounding her wisdom in the body, the land, and the quiet whispers of the unseen.

I met Grandmother Ash over a decade ago during a season of deep personal transformation. She took me in, not with softness, but with strength. Her guidance wasn’t always gentle, but it was always true. Many of the somatic principles and sacred rituals I now offer through Hillheim were born from long evenings at her table, where the tea was bitter, the air was thick with smoke and stories, and silence spoke as loud as words.

One of the first things she ever told me was: “Ii leat galbma go gáddi lea geađgi.” It means, “It is not cold when the shore holds stone.” I didn’t understand it at first, but over time I came to see it was her way of saying: You are not alone when you’re anchored. Be the shore for others.

And so I forged Hillheim.

Though she prefers solitude and rarely leaves her quiet homestead in the Northwoods, Grandmother Ash remains deeply connected to the work we do here. Her voice still shapes my hands. Her spirit still anchors our vision.

If you wish to ask her a question, receive a teaching, or simply feel the weight of her presence in your own path, you may contact her directly — with respect and intention — at:

Please understand that Grandmother Ash responds when the spirit moves her. This is not a service. It is a relationship.
